Geomechanics Research Unit (GMR), Institute of Engineering, Suranaree University of Technology is pleased to present the Third Thailand Rock Mechanics Symposium (ThaiRock 2011). The meeting will be held on March 10-11, 2011, at the Springfield @ Sea Resort & Spa, Cha-Am Beach, Thailand.

ThaiRock 2011 represents a continued effort to promote the significance and development of the rock mechanics profession in Thailand and neighboring countries. It is a collaborating effort among leading educational institutes government agencies and private companies in Thailand. The meeting will allow an opportunity for the local and regional mining, civil, and geotechnical engineers, geologists, researchers and regulators to discuss and exchange their knowledge, problems and experience. The success of the past ThaiRock 2007 and 2009 proves that Thailand Rock Mechanics Symposium is not only important but necessary for the infrastructure development and energy and mineral resources exploitation in southeast Asia. The delegates from over 10 countries have attended the conferences. We are confident that ThaiRock 2011 will have more papers and participants than the previous.
